NOT SURPRISED AT ALL! A friend of mine recently expressed his dismay over stumbling across a dating website which hooks up all types of relationships, including married people looking to cheat on their spouse. This particular sites motto: Life is short. Have an affair.® Immediately under that post were relating posts, one a Huffington News item (see below) where the headline reads: You May Be Surprised How Many Born-Again Christians Use Ashely Madison and then the sub-reading: Having faith doesnt necessarily mean youre faithful... to your spouse. I couldnt help but say to myself, Wow, theyre spot on using 3 periods and could have just as well left it as the end of their statement. Having faith has nothing whatsoever to do with being faithful... Just as labeling oneself a born-again Christian has anything to do with being a person of Christ. I can paint a dog tird red and call it a strawberry! Im reminded of a passage from the Bible: Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds (staying faithful to your spouse) is useless? ~ James 2:18-20 (my addition) huffingtonpost/2014/06/04/infidelity-and-religion_n_5447526.html
