NOT THE DEMOCRATS PROUDEST MOMENT This evening I reread my blog posts for the last couple of days and bored myself to sleep. I’m not saying the issues I wrote about are not important but all I was doing was regurgitating numbers and figures with no passion. Passion is why I started the blog. Every day I observe some issue that sticks in my craw and from now on that issue is what I plan to write about. Todays ‘piss me off moment’ was the walk out of the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee. The shameful Democrats are as follows: Rep. Carolyn Maloney (NY-14) Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D.C.) Rep. John Tierney (MA-6) Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay (MO-1) Rep. Stephen Lynch (MA-9) Rep. Jim Cooper (TN-5) Rep. Gerald Connolly (VA-11) Rep. Matt Cartwright (PA-17) Rep. Mark Pocan (WI-2) Rep. Tammy Duckworth (IL-8) Rep. Danny K. Davis (IL-7) Rep. Peter Welch (VT) Rep. Tony Cardenas (CA-29) Rep. Steve Horsford (NV-4) Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-1) These Democrats walked out on the proceedings during the testimony of the victims’ families. We cannot stand for this sort of disrespect, dishonor and contempt. Elijah Cummings and Jackie Speier stayed and I respect them for that. The Democratic Party has shown to have a culture of contempt and distain for the American people. While it is sometimes commendable for you to support your party there are a couple things you need to always remember. You were voted into that office by the American people in your district or state and you took on a responsibility not only your constituency but to the American people to uphold the Constitution of the United States and to represent not just those who voted for you but ALL of the people. You were not voted in to represent special interests and you sure as hell weren’t voted in to represent the Executive Branch. While you may be a Democrat, you are first and foremost an American and you Damn well better start remembering that. Politicians as a whole, both Parties, have consistently lied to the American people and it is important for you to remember that if you have to lie to get support for your issue than your issue is crap and you need to fall back and punt. So often I have watched you push bullshit issues through just to make a certain voter block happy at the expense of your country. Politicians seem to think that they need to pass laws just to justify their existence when it would better serve everyone if you simply made sure the existing laws were enforced. We the people need to remember that we can’t vote people into public office based on a popularity contest mentality. If our elected officials are putting our countries best interests behind greed and ideology then get rid of them. We need to stop thinking in terms of Democrats and Republicans and go back to thinking as Americans. Donovan Hurley
