NOTICE NEW APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR PERMISSION BY STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS TO HOLD ANY ACTIVITY OR ACTIVITIES IN THE UNIVERSITY The SRC have been directed by the Registrar to inform you that, based on the recommendations of the Committee that investigated the unruly behavior of the Royal Bobo Kingdom on 18th April, 2013.the underlisted procedure are what would be followed when any organized students group wishes to undertake any activity in the University: 1. All applications for permission to undertake any activity in the university must be routed through the Dean of Students to the Registrar. 2. All such applications should be copied to the SRC to make them aware of the impending activity or activities of the student association concerned. 3. Application for permission by students to observe one activity or the other should be copied to the Security Directorate to make them aware of the impending programme of activities. 4. Application should be accompanied by a written undertaking by the organizers of the programme of activities, to abide by the relevant provisions in the student’s Handbook that govern such activity or activities, to wit: Section 5.4(Pages 235 & 236) Sub-section(c) Which states that “the application shall indicate who the organizers are and a personal undertaking of the organisers to individually ensure that the event does not disturb or disrupt the academic and administrative peace and order in the University.” Sub-section (g) which states that” it is a major offense for students participating in a demonstration or similar activities to disrupt lectures or prevent other students from attending lectures or harass them. Sub-section (i): Which states that “no activity at which musical instruments or other noise proceeding equipment are used shall be organized in the University during a week day;a violation of this rule is a major offense.” NOTE THAT THESE NEW PROCEDURES TAKE EFFECT FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE 2013/2014 ACADEMIC YEAR AND THEY TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER WHAT IS CURRENTLY CONTAINED IN THE STUDENT’S HANDBOOK. posted by: DANIEL OKYERE(MR.CAPABLE) SRC PRO
