NOW 2015 (January 14) - Unity “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” – 1 Corinthians 1:10 God desires His people to come together in unity. He wants all races, creeds, colors, ideologies and walks of life to come together in His name and worship Him. Even among different denominations, He desires an ecumenical bond among His people. The word of God stresses the importance of brethren dwelling together in unity (Psalm 133:1). When the Kingdom of God expands, that’s when unity is most important. When people are delivered from things like addiction or infidelity, they need to be able to fit in a space where they can help people that struggle with those issues. That’s where unity comes into play. It’s about breaking down walls of experience and understanding to glorify the King as one unit. It’s about coming together in love to magnify and exalt the Creator of all things (Romans 15:6). Thank God for unity and the bond He creates by bringing us together as one!
