Pope Francis inserted himself directly into the collapsed Middle East peace process on Sunday, issuing an invitation to host the Israeli and Palestinian presidents for a prayer summit meeting at his apartment in the Vatican, The pope had flown directly to the West Bank where he referred to the Israeli-occupied territory as the “State of Palestine.” After describing the overall situation between Israel and the Palestinians as “increasingly unacceptable,” the pope made a dramatic, unscheduled stop at Israel’s contentious concrete barrier separating Bethlehem from Jerusalem, where he prayed and touched his head against the graffiti-covered wall FIRST AMERICA & NOW THE POPE... A) THIS IS FURTHER EMBOLDENING THE PALESTINIANS THAT ISRAEL SHOULD GIVE AWAY HER LAND TO THEM. B) THIS WILL PROVE TO THE PALESTINIANS THAT NO WORLD AUTHORITY WILL EVER BE ABLE TO HAND ISRAELS LAND OVER ON A SILVER PLATTER. C) THE PALESTINIANS WILL FEEL JUSTIFIED IN ATTACKING ISRAEL SO AS TO TAKE HER LAND BY FORCE. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy rock.
