NOW THYSELF Whatever your calling in life, you may be tempted to - TopicsExpress

NOW THYSELF Whatever your calling in life, you may be tempted to copy the successful people in your field. But the best one can hope for with this approach is the ‘Master Imitator’, not being your own Master Life Coach, Engineer, Writer or whatever. True, there is no harm in taking the well travelled path; but that same road doesn’t lead to greatness or pride in one’s work. If you truly want to distinguish yourself, be an innovator, not an imitator. God has given you unique skills, ideas, and experiences. The well travelled path of others should only be a guiding principle. There is no one just like you anywhere on this Planet. You do not have to procrastinate or be confused as to who you are or what you should be doing. Take some time to think about the characteristics that make you, YOU!! Write them down on a piece of paper and keep it with you. Then work on only one characteristic at a time. If it is a positive quality – something you like about yourself – ask God to help you find new ways to nurture and express it. Then seek out opportunities to exercise that trait t in the service of others. If the quality is something you would consider negative, something you dislike about yourself – ask God to show you how to turn the liability into an asset. Most of all remember there is only one way to be a true original in this copycat world: BE YOURSELF!! Pray: 1. Father, I thank You because Your Word concerning me says I am wonderfully and uniquely made. 2. Enable me, O Lord, to find and walk in my own purpose and not the purpose of another. 3. Let me, Father, be an Imitator of Christ and not an imitator of man. 4. Lead me , Father, to opportunities and give me the energy to help others and thereby be a blessing to myself, in Jesus name.
