*** NSWSC WEATHER UPDATE *** *** POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORMS AND EAST COAST LOW *** #nswweather We are currently seeing a low trough and inbeded low sitting in southwestern QLD, and will move in a southwesterly direction over the weekend. As the trough begins to enter the state tomorrow it should start to produce showers and thunderstorms for the north of the state tomorrow, and Sunday they should start to extend south along the ranges, Monday thunderstorms and showers should become more widespread across the state as this system starts to develop into a ECL (picture 1) Monday evening as the ECL develops it should drive showers and rain along the coast and ranges where we could see falls ranging from 5 to 50 mm possible over next week (picture 2). I have also included the thunderstorm possibility maps for the next few days.1 Saturday, 2 Sunday, 3 Monday these maps are the 2 pm forecast . As always NSWSC will continue to monitor the system and keep you updated to any changes and post warnings if or when the BoM issues them. Remember, IF ITS FLOODED - FORGET IT!! Please take care on the roads and never shelter under trees in a storm. If you see debris on the road or require emergency assistance in floods and storms, please contact the SES on 132 500. For life threatening situations, please call triple zero (000). JOHN Image and source: Bureau of Meteorology
