Naa Naa Sisterhood Foundation Meeting Sunday January 4th, 2015 At Jeannie Dudley Wilson;s house In attendance Jesse Holycross Brenda Gail Hopkins Fortuna, Lynda Martin Hodge, Tuesday Lingenfelter, Jeannie Dudley Wilson, Xavier Conlee Elmire Raven, Executive Director of My Sister’s House gave a short presentation about her organization and how the Naa Naa Sister Foundation can work with them on a few different projects. Lynda will be Ms. Raven’s contact person. Naa Naa Sisterhood can do birthdays for the children that stay in the shelter. The cakes are usually provided by Rudy Polito at Baskin Robins. Jeannie thinks Harris Teeter may also help with cakes. Ms. Raven will contact Lynda with upcoming birthdays including the child age, gender and any special needs/wants. We will only be able to drop off gift/party stuff unless we participate in the training and background check. In order to participate in the birthday parties you must go through a screening / orientation at My Sister’s House. If you are interested in participating go to the website and fill out a volunteer application. The background check will cost $16 and the orientation will be an hour followed by three additional training hours. To work with the children you will need additional training that is around two hours. Welcome baskets—My Sister’s House averages 2 move outs a month. What are the needs? – They have been emailed to Lynda. Drop off locations for clothing is Christ our King Church on 17 in Mt. P or at the executive office. Drop sites can be found on MSH website. Also accepts non perishables and powder laundry detergents. And sandwich bags. Naa Naas will do Easter baskets this year MSH!!!! FUN!! Easter is Sunday April 5th this year. The February fundraiser will be held at Tailgaters on Clements Ferry. This will be discussed at the next meeting on Sunday January 18th. It will be at Jeannie’s again at 5pm.
