Naked Salve!!! Buff Balm! Whatever you want to call it, its good stuff :) This is a basic recipe for a salve/balm/ointment to use as a general carrier for your oils. This is a way to layer on your essential oils and not have to worry about making a ton of recipes. Its easy, get a little of the salve on your hands, add a couple drops of your essential oils, and then rub in to the desired area. The great thing about this recipe is that it is naked so you dont have to keep it in glass. :) I doubled the recipe to share with my BFF, Laura Reeves McCord. I know one way that I will be using it will be as a warming balm when my hands are like ice. I suffer from Raynauds and my hands turn purple and white when they are cold. (They are even bad when I go grocery shopping in the frozen food section.) You just take a teaspoon or so of the salve in your hands, add a couple of drops of Black Pepper and rub in! Problem solved. Recipe is below - Enjoy. Comment below and tell me how you would use yours. Buff Balm: 1/2 cup coconut oil 1/2 cup olive oil (I use Extra Light, but you can use Extra Virgin) 2 Tbsp beeswax (heaping) 1/8 tsp vitamin E (optional) 1/8 tsp Emu Oil (optional) Melt all ingredients on low (double boiler method). Pour into containers. This recipes makes approx. 10 oz. If you havent joined us yet, come over to the No Compromise Sharing Group.
