Nakonde Residents Kill 2 Robbers Residents in Nakonde District have killed two suspected armed robbers who had crossed over from Tanzania after being pursued. The robbers who were three had broken into a shop at gunpoint and got away with a box they thought contained money but hit a snag when they discovered there was no money. They negotiated their way on the Tunduma/Nakonde border but were pursued into Zambia with the mob in Nakonde taking the law into their own hands by beating them while one fled. The residents battered the suspected criminals to death as police struggled to calm them down.
