Nakuru County Development Master-Plan Is Ready Says Governor Kinuthia Mbugua By Elijah Kinyanjui September 11, 2013 A master-plan for the development of Nakuru County is now ready and will start being implemented as soon as the about Sh 6.9 billion earmarked for the county arrives. Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua said the first batch o about Sh 504m will be received form the National Government any time from now but much of it will be put to development although it is earmarked for operations of the County Government. Speaking at Kampi Ya Moto trading centre at the start of his tour of Rongai Sub-County this morning, Governor Kinuthia said contrary to the impression of many, Nauru County is “on track an there is nowhere it is lagging behind”. He said at public baraza at the centre:” We are probably ahead of most of the other counties In terms of development activities”. Kinuthia said even as The Council of Governors and MPs keep pressing for all funds earmarked for roads to be placed under the counties, his government will embark on roads construction as a priority. Kinuthia was accompanied by Nakuru County Environment, Water and Energy Ministers Richard Rop and his roads counterpart Maina Kairo. Rongai MP Raymond Moi was once again absent from the function but his apoloigies were relayed to Governor Kinuthia during the tour by area MCA (Visoi ward) Edward Gitau. Gitau said the MP was attending a law-makers’ seminar in Kwale County. Others MCAs present were Joseph Ng’ang’a Ngware of Kamara in Molo Paul Kibet Chebor of Solai, Lucy Nyambura Kihumba of Menengai West and Kiprop Symon Molock of Soin Ward in Rongai.
