Namibia head coach Roger Palmgren has resigned just over a month into his new job following death threats. According to reports in the country, Namibia Football Association president John Muinjo confirmed on Sunday evening that the reason for Palmgren’s sudden departure was because of serious threats directed towards him and his family. The former AmaZulu coach was in the job since May 1 and he guided the team in two matches; a friendly against Zambia on May 25 and a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Malawi on June 5. Both matches ended goalless. Palmgren’s resignation came days before Namibia play Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday at Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek.
