Nancy, one of the very smartest and best women I know, said it best: “I can’t even have a conversation about ‘leaning in’ if I don’t acknowledge the woman who taught me what that meant, and the importance of the role of parents—and especially moms—in the lives and future leanings of young women.” If you don’t think you need the support of your community of like-minded people, and that you can get where you are going by yourself, then that is absolutely super duper. But on your way, please don’t forget to look around once in a while and see if there is anyone who might actually need some help finding her voice. Help her. Thats the point.
