Naoto Matsumura is the last man from Fukushima. He is a farmer - TopicsExpress

Naoto Matsumura is the last man from Fukushima. He is a farmer in the no-go zone in Tomioka who has decided to stay there despite the radiations threatening his life. Since the disaster, he has taken care of the abandoned animals and testified about the no man’s land. Here is a link about his life and his daily fight: dailymotion/fr/relevance/search/naoto+matsuura/1#video=xyenz6. While staying in the no-go zone, Naoto Matsumura became quickly a worldwide icon struggling against Tepco and nuclear. Antonio Pagnotta is a French photoreporter but also an anti-nuclear activist who met Naoto Matsumura several times in the no-go zone. You can find his pictures here: mediapart.fr/portfolios/photographe/antonio-pagnotta. He’s also the author of the book Le dernier homme de Fukushima (available in French only). After one his conferences in France, some people decided to invite Antonio Pagnotta again to have a new meeting. When they got in touch with him, he told them he wished he could bring Naoto Matusmura himself to France. This project was born, then. The meeting will take place in March 2014 for the 3rd anniversary of the disaster. Some conferences will take place in Alsace where the oldest and most dangerous French power plant is established. Among others, a meeting in the European Parliament and a big activist meeting in Strasbourg have been planned. We need your help to fund this event! This fundraising aims at paying for Naoto Matsumura’s travel expenses and the total amount of his stay in France. This money will also be used to pay for the other stakeholders stay except for the meeting in Strasbourg. We estimate the costs to be higher than 5 000 euros. If we succeed in collecting more money than what the event needs, it will entirely be given away to Naoto Matsumara’s association to help him to take care of the animals. We hope for your generosity; please don’t forget that the single euro counts! Please help us to spread the information out; we really need as many people as possible to know about this event!
