Napa Truffle Festival Begins Jan. 16! The Napa Valley is just a hop, skip and a jump from Sacramento, and if you’re a food lover, you won’t mind making the jaunt in mid-January for the Napa Truffle Festival. Celebrating all things truffle, the festival offers cultivation seminars, a truffle marketplace, cooking demonstrations, an orchard tour and even a unique opportunity to watch trained truffle-hunting dogs locate this precious culinary “black gold.” Renowned mycologists will also lead a hike into the woods of Napa Valley to demonstrate foraging for exotic mushrooms in their native habitats. Several meals will be offered, including a spectacular multi-course Truffles & Wine dinner at La Toque in Napa, which will be prepared by four Michelin star chefs from around the world.
