During November, let’s double our efforts to stock the food pantry at the Family Christian Development Center! The following items are especially needed: Canned fruit, Ramen Noodles, Boxed meals such as Hamburger Helper, Macaroni, Rice, Peanut Butter, Soups, and Spaghetti and Sauce. Place Peanut Butter in box marked “Open Door” on the bottom of the grocery cart. Recycling Opportunities: Whenever you have empty ink or toner cartridges from your computer printers or copiers, bring them to the church and we will collect them for a recycle program. There is a box on the floor by the small copier for them, along with a box for recycling paper. We are still collecting pop cans for Habitat for Humanity. The box for those is in the hall outside the restrooms. Reminder about the WOW Club (Widows, Older Folks & Widowers): This group will be meeting at 11:30 a.m. every second Friday of the month at a local restaurant for lunch. Jack and his wife, Martha Lou, live in Osceola and have 3 children, Janaye Smith of Nappanee, Rick Cary of Phoenix, AZ and Darlene Scanlon also of Phoenix. Jack and his wife served the Pleasant Valley CoB for 5 years and at North Manchester for 3 years which was his first ministry. He has done some short mission work in Venezuela, Ecuador, and Puerto Rico and also served in France for 2 years in a Church of God. Everyone is invited to stay for the Fundraiser Lunch after worship. It is sponsored by the Stewardship Commission. They will be serving chicken & noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, and sheet cake. Funds raised will go to the Elkhart County Women’s Shelter and On Earth Peace Assembly. Well, Im GLAD you asked...Pastor Janet and I are at the Middlebury Church of the Brethren this morning where she is giving her TRIAL SERMON as God has called her to a new adventure in ministry! I read a story about a pastor who announced she was leaving and after the announcement one lady was crying and crying, the pastor trying to comfort the lady said, “Please dont cry, Im sure the search team will come up with someone that is even Better than I am!” The lady started sobbing even harder! The pastor asked, “What’s the matter now?” The crying lady said, “Thats what those liars told us when we got you!”...I feel like I am SO BLESSED to be YOUR pastor, THANK YOU for all you have done and continue to do for Gods community right here at Nappanee Church of the Brethren, we got some good stuff going on!!!...…C U Next Sunday.
