Narendra Rai I found to have sympathy for, a man from Pakistan, only 27 years old and doing poetry from his youth directly out of his great heart. I met him nearly 2 years ago on Facebook doing lovely. We soon became friends and I read many of his ink. He studied in Hyderabad, Sindh Law College, but was born in Talhar, Sindh, Pakistan and now lives in Badin. His early contact with poetry he penned were poems about love and he was influenced ...by the scattering fragrance of the blooming rose still greeting. In his ink Abandoned Flowers he spoke about.... As result of our own deeds and the brook of belief bleeds with grief and seems no relief... and in his poem Our Love Flew Being Pigeon he said...Your words within be studied, your visage as a book grew...or in Your Memories Narendra wrote: ...Travelling last night you were in my memories but approaching has your memories...The soil emits your sweet scent...Blossoming flower has your memories... All this may sound more of his own heart - in his own words - than my words can say and it shows how his soul feels. As my reflection on his translation work on Abdullah Nakash Alwani´s poetry I´ll also use Narendra´s poem Reflection to comment his work bringing Sindhi Poems into English : ...Light of beauty is shimmering in the light all darkness faded out and in his Couple Reflection : ...it has been coming description of death, every single word from the dictionary of life... and in Banished Poet he wrote:...The words would have a word to him... Better I can´t say something about poetry he translated like Thoughts Are Nomadic when Gongs Ring in the Temple. I feel very honored for his dedication of Reminiscences Of Twilight. Translating my own poems from English into German, my mother-language and many times also from original German into English I know how much work it is to find the right spelling and how much more difficulty it must have been to translate Sindhi poems from Nakash.
