This number will be reomoved from the payroll with immediate effect. said the governor There are 13 individuals who are still in active employment past their retirement age. This costs the county government Kshs 1,231,792 monthly, which translates to Kshs 14, 781,511 annually. The county therefore loses over 14 million shillings to staffers beyond their retirement age. There are 11 individuals who are not in the human resource staff register but are in the payroll. This costs the county Kshs 1,837,273 each month, which translates to 22, 047,276 annually. Thus, the county loses over 22 million shillings annually to individuals who appear only in the payroll, but are not employed by the county according to human resource records. In total, the audit has revealed that the county government of Narok incurs major financial loses to ghost workers amounting to Kshs 24, 698, 580 monthly, translating to Kshs 296, 382,963 annually. Annually, therefore, Narok County loses over Kshs 296 Million to ghost workers.
