VERY URGENT: PLEASE SHARE! Jesse, a Lab cross struck by HIT AND RUN DRIVR, NEEDS SURGERY! *** Innocent little girls and dogs dont understand anything about this thing called money that can break hearts and cause lives to be lost if you dont have enough of it to pay for something crucial - please help us save Jesse, so that she gets to live, and the little girl who loves her doesnt have to learn the hard way. JESSES STORY What started off as a fun family outing today for one local family ended in DISASTER. Jesse, a small three-year-old Yellow Lab cross, was heading to watch the Mount Pearl Christmas parade with her family. Jesses best friend since puppyhood, the familys eight-year-old girl, was proudly holding her leash, and was very excited about the parade, as was Jesse. Unfortunately, Jesse was a little TOO excited, and in a moment of Lab bounciness, pulled the leash from the little girls hand, and ran into the road. The parade had not yet reached that point, but an oncoming van had - it hit Jesse, and DIDNT STOP. The driver kept going, leaving badly injured Jesse and her HORRIFIED family behind. Jesses family was in shock and crying - the little girl was/is completely traumatized at the sight of her best friend with a mangled front leg, and blood on her chin and face. Were told by Jesses mom that she and other witnesses feel there is NO chance that the driver didnt realize that they had hit Jesse. Somehow poor Jesse managed to find the strength to stumble to the side of the road, where her mom scooped her up in her arms and began walking. Thankfully, another mother saw what happened, and came to the aid of Jesse and her family. Our understanding is that this Good Samaritan and her children gave up seeing the parade to rush Jesse and her family - who dont have a car - to the closest vet, Sunrise Animal Hospital. The vet clinic called Heavenly Creatures a short time later to ask for our help. Jesse was crying out in physical pain when the clinic called, while her family was crying down the hallway out of devastation - they thought they were about to lose her over lack of money. You see Jesses family has a lot of love, but not a lot of money. They are very poor, or what is known as low income these days. They couldnt/cant afford pain meds, and x-rays, much less the leg surgery that Jesse now needs. This is no ones fault, least of all Jesses. So its either HC stepped up, or Jesse would have to be euthanized instead of treated. We approved the pain medicine and x-rays, and now have the task of raising the $2500-$3000 needed for Jesse to have leg surgery, and pay for her hospitalization. Heavenly Creatures has no spare money: we already owe over $20, 000 in vet bill debt that were very much struggling to pay off before months end, and we cant afford another $3000 on top of it. But how could we say no and have a young dog lose her life far too soon, and a child lose their dog right before Christmas? We have to raise the money by Tuesday, December 8th, so that Jesse can have surgery and then get back home where she belongs for Christmas. If you were looking to do a good deed before Christmas, were pretty sure that sparing a few dollars to help us spare this dogs life, and consequentially her young owners Christmas, would definitely count in Santas books :) HOW TO HELP US HELP JESSE E-TRANSFERS: [email protected] (please use the password: helpsavejesse Please add a note that it is for Jesse, and whether you need a tax receipt.
