Nassau County PD Reports: A Bellmore man is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. These charges are in response to an incident where he allegedly took his pit-bull dog and chased a female victim to her apartment yelling and ordered the dog to attack. The victim was bitten in the leg as she attempted to enter her apartment. She yelled to the defendant to get out of her apartment as she locked herself in her bathroom in an attempt for safety. The defendant proceeded to bang on the bathroom door until he punched a two foot hole in the door and again ordered the dog to attack. The victim’s two male children, ages, 8 and 10, in fear of their safety, locked themselves in another room of the apartment. The victim’s injury was minor and the children were not physically harmed.
