Natchitoches Parish Animal Services (A very small facility on the grounds of the Parish Prison. ) has a litter of pups with parvovirus. They are putting all the dogs down including these 2 that were just owner surrendered yesterday after a young man drove up in his truck to surrender his two pets because he had to go to college. With less than 24 hours notice until they were euthunaized, we decided we couldnt let this happen and arranged to pick them up and arrange for vet care and quarantine until we are sure they do not have parvovirus. All donations will go towards vet care and boarding. PLEASE help these two on their journey to finding their furever home. Thanks to YOUR HELP Duke and Dutchess were spared from their ghastly fate this morning. They are now he capable hands of Dr. Gina Cheuk at Metairie Small Animal Hospital where they will be monitored in joint isolation for the next 10 days. They are now chipped and have basic vaccinations. Dutchess will be getting treated for a bacterial infection as well. We have crossed the first bridge in the long road to happiness, but still need help in ensuring the rest of the journey is as smooth as possible, because these two have been through a lot in the last few days. Please keep these two in your thoughts and prayers, as the next 10 days will determine the next steps in their journey. Thank you again for all of the generosity and support. P.S.
