National Amirul Hajj lauds Ajimobi over necessary logistics provision for Oyo pilgrims* The National Hajj Commission has commended the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Abiola Ajimobi for making adequate arrangements for pilgrims who participated in the 2013 pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina. The Oyo State Amiru Hajj for this year’s Hajj exercise, Sheikh Abdullahi Akinbode disclosed this while presenting the report of the 2013 Hajj operations to the governor in his office at the week-end. Akinbode, who is also the National Missioner of NASFAT, told the governor that the National Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Abubakar El-Kanemi “lauded his (governor’s) efforts for making this year’s pilgrimage enjoyable and successful through the provision of necessary logistics to the pilgrims in the Holy Land’’. The National Amirul Hajj, who is also the Sheu of Bornu, he said, expressed delight at the good characters exhibited by the Oyo State pilgrims, expressing optimism that more slots would be alloted to the state in subsequent Hajj exercises. “The national Amirul Hajj, with his entourage, paid as a courtesy call on Oyo State pilgrims and when he saw the arrangements and what was on ground in Oyo camp, he was highly impressed, and even promised to recommend that Oyo State be allotted more slots in next year’s exercise for what the government had provided for the pilgrims and the discipline the pilgrims had exhibited,” Akinbode said. In his remarks, Governor Ajimobi said that his administration would not relent in its efforts at making holy pilgrimage to Mecca by Islamic faithful from the state more comfortable. He added that government would continue to provide essential amenities that would enhance spiritual rejuvenation of pilgrims during Hajj exercise. The governor also reaffirmed his government’s resolve to begin the airlift of pilgrims from Ibadan to Lagos en route Saudi Arabia. He commend the support of governor Abiola Ajimobi to the pilgrims. welfare Board and the entire pilgrims pointing out that adequate arrangement was made for them to ensure hitch free and successful Hajj. “If we compare what we have seen in Mecca and Medina this year courtesy of governor of Oyo State we can assuredly say that governor Abiola Ajimobi is a role model for all governors in Nigeria, the Hajj for this year was very successful, we went as scheduled, everything was orderly and we were all transported from Medina to Mecca where we performed the rite of Hajj”
