National Front Official Page. THE mother of toddler James Bulger last night blasted a decision to release one of his killers. Denise Fergus hit out at the Parole Board’s decision to re-release Jon Venables, who was 10 years old when he and Robert Thompson, also 10, murdered two-year-old James. She warned: “I fear they will find they just have another Ian Brady on their hands.” Venables, now 30, is serving a 2010 sentence for being in possession of 57 indecent images of children. Nine years earlier he had been released on licence after serving eight years for killing James. Denise, 45, of Kirkby, Merseyside, said: “Venables has shown he cannot be trusted and is a danger to the public and himself. He is still a huge risk and they should not let him out after just three years.” Last night it emerged that giving Venables a new identity will push the cost to the taxpayer of protecting him to £5million.
