National Network Ready for Reforms One of the most satisfying - TopicsExpress

National Network Ready for Reforms One of the most satisfying outcomes of the Local Labor Facebook forum page, is to see so many passionate Labor members from every corner of Australia, from across cities and country and regional towns, add each other as friends on their personal pages and continue their political discussions and sharing ideas and mutual support on and off this page. It is unlikely this would have occurred to this degree without Local Labor giving a platform for members to express themselves freely and respectfully. We are fast approaching the attainment of many of Local Labors goals, at least at a foundational level across the eastern states. Reform momentum will soon grow in the rest of the country too. When state conferences and national conferences and admin and rules committees move to implement much needed reforms whether with rules changes or through resource allocations, the real work of the Local Labor network begins. At that point we will need to transition from being an internal ALP grassroots lobby group, to a community of shared practice helping educate and support each other to put those reforms into effect in our local branches and communities. There is some way to go yet, but our near 4 year campaign is about to move into a different phase. We should all prepare ourselves. It would be interesting to hear your views on the work you believe still needs to be done and what our focus should be.
