National Youths Front Aims and Objectives 1 To promote and increase self-esteem, self-confidence and self–belief by delivering a range of topics that are both educationally and therapeutically based. By encouraging group involvement and self-expression. 2 To provide and maintain a safe environment for group members. 3 To promote constructive and positive relationships between group members and staff whilst setting clear and concise boundaries. 4 To encourage interaction between all those involved with the programme through group work and discussion while maintaining boundaries and confidentiality. 5 To befriend and provide support. 6 To encourage group members to address their own behaviour and needs whilst allowing self-development. Offering encouragement to move forward whilst making use of all available support agencies. 7 To reduce offending behaviour. 8 To empower young people to advocate on their own and others behalf. 9. To create a safer, happier society by raising aspirations for the future. Outcomes 1 Encouragement to acknowledge their personal and social responsibility. 2 Consideration of the victim’s perspective and alternatives to crime. 3 Gain of sufficient knowledge to enable them to make informed decisions concerning their involvement in criminal behaviour and the ability to self-evaluate their actions and take responsibility for them. 4 Increased self-confidence and self-awareness to enable positive decision making and form constructive relationships. 5 Improved communication skills and interaction with others.
