Every time Id wake up, I think Im going to wake up in that desert nightmare again. After the first gulf war it was worst, Id wake up and thered be nothing. I hardly said a word to my first wife until I said yes to a divorce. And then one day, life seemed normal again, but then the towers came crashing down and I volunteered again. Shortly there after, I found myself attending the funerals of The Fallen, funeral after funeral, wake after wake, Gold Star Mother, after Gold Star Mother, month after after month, year after year theyd arrive, but the masses disappeared; but Im still here, standing alone at the cemetery next to the Fallen. When I was home with my new family all I could think of was The Fallen, and now Im going through my second divorce; and when I look around, like I did after the 1st gulf war, I see nothing, nothing, nothing at all.
