Naval Architect Location: Canada Salary: Negotiable dependent upon qualification and experience Terms of Employment: Permanent / Full Time Key Responsibilities: • Execute and deliver naval construction projects. • Work independently with moderate supervision or on project teams. • Develop and manage project cost, schedules and design products (drawings and reports). • Prepare and participate in R&D initiatives. • Manage cost, schedules and technical product development. • Lead multi-disciplined teams and supervise staff. • Develop test procedures and perform quality assurance reviews of analyses, calculations and drawings to ensure component systems performance. • Diagnose problems (technical and human). • Take part in tests on an occasional basis. Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or equivalent is required; advanced degree a plus. • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Project Management. • Proficiency in using industry-standard naval architecture software tools such as ASSET, GHS, SHCP, AutoCAD, NAVCAD, VisualSMP, MS-Office. • Knowledge of ISO, ISM and ISPS standards, an asset. • Strong verbal and written communication skills required in French and English (Bilingual). • Ability to work as part of a team essential. • Experience in project planning, follow-up and control. • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
