Navneet Prakritik Yoga Chikitsha Dham | navneetync/ | 9928034400/9602859292 Piles ( difficulty during defication ) Dr. ramakant sharma piles are the swollen and inflamed veins around the anus in the lower rectum ( the last part of the large intestine ) leading to the anus. There are two forms of piles , i.e., internal and external. External piles are located under the skin around the anus, where as Internal piles develop in the lower rectum. Symptoms : - Symptoms of piles include Pain, Anal itching, Bleeding during bowel movements, Protrusion during bowel movements, Sensitive lumps around the anus. Causes : - Chronic constipation, excessive straining during bowel movements, over use of laxatives and lack of fibre in the diet Genetics and weakening of the in the rectum and anus Pregnancy can also cause haemorrhoids by increasing pressure in the abdomen, which may enlarge the veins in the lower rectum . For most women, haemorrhoids caused by pregnancy disappear after childbirth. Management through naturopathy and yoga Hydrotherapy : - Hot and cold hip bath Hot and cold fomentation on abdomen Neutral hip bath Cold immersion bath Enema : - Enemas may be used to relieve constipation and To keep the bowels clean, plain warm water enema is effective As a bowel stimulant, enema is administered directly into the rectum. Caster oil enema with 50 ml oil at night time is very effective Mud therapy : - Mud pack over abdomen for 30 min. Mud pack on anus - it will contract the vessels of and thus will decrease bleeding . Diet therapy : - Diet plays an important role in relieving constipation and thus it helps to cure and prevent piles . The following food items are recommended to rule out constipation: Liquids diet : Boiled Vegetables Fresh Fruits: Rich fibres diet ¾ of diet should be raw or boiled Hot milk 200 ml with 2 spoon full of caster oil at night before sleeping or Warm milk with sat isabghol at night Diet chart : - At wake up -------------3/4 glasses of normal water 7:00 am -----------------aloevera juice + amla juice ( 2+2 spoons ) 9:30 am -----------------soaked dry fruits + fresh fruits 12:00 --------------------roti 2/3 + boiled vegi. + butter milk 1 glass 03:00 pm----------------fresh fruit juice 1 glass 07:00 pm dinner -----roti 2 +boiled vegi. + soup 08:30 pm--------------------------hot milk with 2 tea spoon full of caster oil / o milk with isabghol / o trifala juice 10 ml / o trifala powder 2 spoon full with warm water / o harad powder 1 tea spoon full with warm water Flax seeds: Studies have proved that The patients who ingested flaxseed showed as ignificant reduction in constipation, bloating and pain. Three table spoon of flax seeds can be had in a day either in powdered forma added to the meals or can be had exclusively after soaking it overnight. Figs: The tiny seeds of the fruit possess all excellent quality of stimulating peristaltic movement of the intestines. This facilitates easy evacuation of stools and keeps the alimentary canal clean. food to be avoided : - meat, fish, eggs, cheese, white sugar, sweets, all fried foods and all white flour products, salty and pungent foods should be generally avoided. Tea and coffee should also be avoided as it is a proven fact that, they cause constipation. To relieve the pain “Sitz bath” is a bath in which the hip and buttocks are immersed in luke warm water for the therapeutic effect of moist heat in the anal and perineal (lower most part of the trunk)regions. The bath can be had as often as per the need for 10-15 minutes. Hot water is not recommended and may injure the tissues further. Icing : - Acutely inflamed hemorrhoids respond well to icing the area. Ice pack can be applied to the anal area on and off for 10-15 minutes, for even up to 5-times a day. Cold compress applied to the rectal area for an hour before bedtime is also very helpful.
