Nebo Nugget @ Noonday “The Desert Train” Good afternoon. - TopicsExpress

Nebo Nugget @ Noonday “The Desert Train” Good afternoon. On this “hump” day I pray that this week has gone well so far. In Deuteronomy 2 the nation of Israel is traveling by foot and by beast through the wilderness like a long desert train. God is giving Moses directions at every turn as Moses leads the Israelites to the Promised Land. In Deuteronomy 2:7 He says to Moses “The Lord God has blessed you in all the works of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast desert. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.” Well, at times life gets “hot” and the bank account gets “dry” and there’s no help in sight, theres only blazing sun, blowing sand and blinding dust in sight. We must remember that we also have access to “The Desert Train,” and God almighty is the conductor. The message God had for Moses works for us as well: 1) He will bless the works of our hands so that current or potential employers/clients are impressed. 2) He will watch over us AND be with us. i.e., He’s not just looking from afar. He’s looking from close range! 3) He will ensure that we won’t lack anything we need. Indeed He supplies some of our wants, but He supplies ALL of our needs. It’s been said that needing Him is knowing Him. Forty years is a long time to spend in the wilderness, but it took forty years for Israel to fully know Him and learn to fully trust Him. It’s also been said that real faith in a train is not just confidence that the train will get there, but having enough courage to actually get on board. The Promised Land is on the other side of a long sometimes arduous bend, but “The Desert Train” and its capable conductor have been that way before. Get your ticket and ride! Have a great afternoon and a grand evening, John A. Wicks, Jr.
