What is Staged Construction Design? “Regularly we find that our clients don’t know where to start with their renovations, however they do know that they are settled in their location for a 10-15 year minimum. An urgent kitchen or living space re-furbishment is required, however major additions for additional bedrooms & family rooms may be 5 years off to suit the household needs & the available expenditure. The preparation of a masterplan for the property has been extremely successful for our clients in this position. We ensure that the works can be carried out in logical states to suit the immediate and long term client brief. The masterplan ensures that the stage 1 works consider & allow for stage 2 or 3. This planned construction sequence eliminates limited short term decisions which lead to wasted expenditure. The masterplan for the dwelling & site form part of the single Development Application lodged to council. Once approved, typically stage 1 is completed and certified by the PCA (Principal Certifying Authority). This secures the masterplan DA approval indefinitely as ‘substantial commencement’ has been verified by the PCA.
