Need is an motion of very genuine feeling to have somebody or something, without which normal life is no longer possible. We need water, air, food to keep the body alive. Then we need human emotion of love, to give love to another human and be loved in return by the human to feed the spirit to live.. It is this refined pure feeling of want that is called need, to nourish life. The emotion of love can be satisfied from various sources such as from parents, family, relatives, friends. Emotional satisfaction can also be partly derived from professional relationship and work environment. Many people in modern business environment try to depend on this source for complete satisfaction. But professional source for emotional satisfaction is not the correct source to rely upon. It is disastrous to depend on professional satisfaction for emotional support. I heard of suicides from harassment and victimization in profession. This shows how wrong it is to totally depend on professional life for emotional support. At a primitive instinct level, many try to fulfill emotional satisfaction in physical relationship. Medical scientific research concluded good health and longevity from such physical satisfaction in life. It may be that those with good health and long life span are emotionally happy that they can achieve satisfaction in physical relationship with their spouses or partners. A healthy looking person may not necessarily be emotionally too happy. But an emotionally unhappy person normally do not keep good health. The point I try to drive is that emotional satisfaction is basic to human need than what we believe in the basic need for physical satisfaction. Physical satisfaction is the outcome from healthy emotion, than to say emotional satisfaction is the outcome of physical satisfaction. Marriage break-down stated to be caused by break-down in physical relationship in reality is rooted to emotional break-down due to incompatibility in thought, action and deed.
