Need of the hour !...There is an increased coalescing of communities around their neighbourhood lakes and an active interest in trying to revive them Jakkur Lake on the North of the city has seen some positive development in revival jakkurlake.jux documents this This linking of a waste-water treatment plant, a wetland and lake ecosystem could be one method of keeping our lakes full and recharging our aquifers. BIOME is planning a visit to Jakkur Lake for this Sunday this 6th of April at 9.00 a.m. The meeting point being the Gate of the Jakkur Wastewater treatment Plant ( wikimapia.org/4129931/Jakkur-Lake-Paradise-for-Birds ) The tour includes - the waste-water treatment plant - a wetland created - the lake itself - fishing activity near the lake - Open well/s recharged thanks to the lake - birds of the lake It will take approx 2 hours and you should be prepared to walk 2 kms with shoes accordingly .Please also carry water and some fruits/biscuits to eat Please drop an email to shubha@biome-solutions or zenrainmain@gmail if you would like to come on this visit
