Need some help from all you mamas out there! For those of you that dont know, I have an atopic child. She suffers from urticaria pigmentosa which creates spots all over her body and face. These spots are clusters of tiny benign rumors that create a large amount of histamine. Not to mention she also has severe eczema on her legs and has an allergy to cows milk. For a normal person who may be itchy, you scratch at it or put some cream and youre done with it. With Natalie, she is itchy x10 and cannot stop scratching without some kind of intervention. Last night was pretty rough with her itching. I woke up to her crying at 4am with blood on her pant leg. She apparently scratched the hell out of her ankles until they bled. She was that itchy. I tended to her wounds and of course she was fighting with me because all she wanted to do was scratch at her legs. This is almost every night. I am starting to get frustrated because I feel that nothing is working. She is on several medications: ceterizine, cimetidine, hydroxzine and Benadryl. She also has several creams: eucerine eczema cream, locoid, mupirocin, Topicort and now elidel. Were going to try bleach baths and oatmeal baths but if those dont work, I dont know what else to do. I feel bad because I dont know how to help her. Any suggestions are appreciated.
