Need some sound advice & an attitude adjustment: Arrived @ Carey - TopicsExpress

Need some sound advice & an attitude adjustment: Arrived @ Carey Jr High to pick up my daughter at 4pm. As I drove up, a woman (later discovered to be the principal) was giving Haley an ear full. When she was done lecturing (Haley said she was yelling at her, but I only observed a stern tone of voice) Haley walked to the car with her head hung low. She was angry & defeated. We have an after school plan: if things dont go as scheduled, if the weather is bad, if shes feeling uncomfortable, if for any reason its not a good idea to walk home, call me & leave a msg so I know where you are, and wait at Carey for me to pick her up after work. Its a safe place to remain until I get there. Shes a high school student but rides the bus to the jr high. Haley was told by this principal that she must not be on school grounds after 3pm, and that she was trespassing by remaining there on grounds. Today there happened to be some miscommunication between Haley & Jake, & he walked home without her.. after chess club, which ends at 3:30. Ideally, they walk home together (safety in numbers). Haley followed the plan perfectly. I understand that the principal doesnt know our struggles. She isnt aware of my schedule, or transportation complications. Im not interested in bashing our schools, teachers, or administrators (I think that they do a fabulous job).. Im just not sure how to approach this issue constructively without my mama bear feelings surfacing. Thoughts?
