Needing to interact with different kinds of people in various situations throughout our day can present many challenges. Some folks are very agreeable and working with them is honestly a pleasure. Others can be more difficult and a very few individuals seem to be determined to be contrary no matter how conciliatory you are towards them. Probably the biggest factor in knowing how to deal with people who aren’t easy on the soul is to treat them well while listening to the Holy Spirit tell us how to respond to them. Jesus, our model of perfect human interaction, always spoke to the heart. He zoned in on exactly what that individual needed to hear. His questions and responses weren’t always what people asked for or expected, but he knew exactly how to communicate with each of them. A wise person listens to the Spirit’s voice and learns how best to deal with others. “Those who are being led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)
