Neither myself or my doctor can decide whats best for me?! Now hospitals are? My naturopathic physician, concerned with and knowing my concern with the amount of radiation from a mammogram, suggested I get an ultrasound. So I went to my primary care doctor and requested one. She agreed to do this but explained that she did not know if the hospital would let me because they often dont allow you to have an ultrasound without getting a mammogram too. Excuse me? Hospitals can say no to my doctors request? I cant decide what is best for me? Would someone please explain to me how this is good healthcare and why this is allowed?
