Neptune was surrendered to the shelter limping, with open wounds and a fever. He was on hold because the wounds were thought to be from a bite. It has now been determined that his wounds are not bite related, he is off hold and has been rescued by Give Me Shelter Project, Inc. As of 10/30/13 Neptunes medical indicates he is no longer walking and his fever is high. We have contacted our vet and sent Neptunes medical information. They are concerned with osteomyelitis and state Neptune will at the very least need a thorough exam, x-rays, and IV for meds and fluids. The estimate for this, including admission to the hospital, is $500.
