Network Rail will begin enforcing restrictions on vehicles entering Edinburgh Waverley Station on Monday 20 January. As of then, private vehicles will not be able to drop off passengers in the station. Drop-off facilities for private vehicles have been moved to Market Street, with a smaller drop-off area created at Calton Road. Free short term parking, for up to 30 minutes, is also available in New Street car park to the south of the station. The New Street and the Calton Road facilities include a helpline for passengers requiring assistance. A limited number of taxis have been issued with an electronic permit that allows them to pass though the security barriers and they will still be able to pick-up and drop off at the designated area within the station.
