Nevada County Concert Band: How Sweet It Is The NCCBand celebrates its 43rd season as a county-wide band, with historical roots through local city-based community bands that date back to the 1880s. And just like then, they still play FREE concerts for all to enjoy. Their Sunday July 27 concert at Pioneer Park will fill you with musical treats about food and love. This is their summer band invitational event, when the NCCBand invites musicians from other bands to join them to create a fabulous 120-piece band. Selections will include Glenn Millers It Must Be Jelly, the Latin rhythms of Lemons and Limes, Holsts classic First Suite in E-Flat for Military Band. Broadways Highlights from Oliver, and a percussion feature with Variations on a Kitchen Sink. Also appearing are The Stamp Mill Stompers, Gold Country Brass, plus tenor saxophone and vocal soloists. Their next FREE concert is Saturday August 9, 2014, Pine Tree Stage Pops Concert, Nevada County Fair, in Grass Valley from 3:30pm - 5:00pm.
