Nevada SAG-AFTRA members... Bring your questions, complaints, concerns, ideas and feedback to the Nevada Membership Meeting this afternoon from noon to 4. Your local board will be there, along with a staff member who oversees locals now that we no longer have an executive. I will not be able to ask questions... A few of my ideas... Why is response so slow from Hollywood when you call? The list is confusing, can contact for the local be simplified to one or two people or numbers? Why no local phone number? That makes it easy for those who would fight us to say there is no SAG in Nevada or SAG pulled out of Nevada. For those who do not have computers, could we please have the local hot line back in service with a local number? Will the new unions structure cause small locals to lose more than just our local executive and offices? Is the national committed to local organizing in Nevada? If yes, how? Who should local producers or directors, talent interested in self producing and even local member contact for immediate help? Why cant the local board be able to have contact information and access to local members? What happened to print newsletters and support for those who do not have computers? What can I do for the union? What do you need from us in preparation for the upcoming tv/theatrical contract? How does Nevada figure into the contract negotiation priorities? How do we stop Taft-Hartleys and/or get those with many Taft-Hartleys to join our ranks? What is the future of medical access for call members? Will programs that I hear about being held in other locals come to Nevada? Or are the resources focused on large locals and those who are considered production centers? There are many other questions., Please bring our own...and be head at the Nevada Membership Meeeting, this afternoon.
