How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood?” - Psalm 4: 2 Jesus said, let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these (Luke 18:16). Many children these days are taught that LIFE can evolve if given enough time; now as magical and fairy-tale-like that this may sound; it is an assertion without any scientific evidence. Oh yes I do concede that there are some really smart scientists out there - but for all their cleverness and sophisticated endeavours not one of them has ever been able to change inorganic matter into a single organic LIVING cell. Scientists a century ago believed the smallest single living cell was a simple life form. The theory developed that perhaps lightning struck a pond of water, causing several molecules to combine in a random way, which by chance resulted in a living cell. The cell then divided and evolved into higher life forms. However all experiments attempting to demonstrate abiogenesis have failed - confirmed total failures by the experimental results. In fact the burden of proof rests upon the one that is asserting that abiogenesis IS possible – the possibility of this tall claim needs to be demonstrated. A long time ago – in Darwin’s day – the cell was believed to be a simple crude blob of protoplasm; but unbeknown to men of days gone by the cell is in fact a miniature factory with many highly sophisticated processes, that when studied, will blow the mind. But magic for the atheist is not that big a deal for they have reasoned that the Universe, time and space are perfectly sufficient to produce all manner of improbabilities, and therefore abiogenesis is as good as any other miracle. Some people have a tremendous propensity for faith - and no matter how many times the collective genius of the scientific elite miserably fail to produce life the godless promissory note that “ONE DAY WE WILL SUCCEED” just keeps rolling. Some are honest, others you can never know, but the quote from Thomas Nagel below sheds some light on the desperate enterprise to have any origin story except God – any miracle except a Creator and any improbability except a supernatural one. “I want atheism to be true and am made uneasy by the fact that some of the most intelligent and well-informed people I know are religious believers. It isnt just that I don’t believe in God and, naturally, hope that Im right in my belief. It’s that I hope there is no God!
