Never say never. NNN has been posting a lot lately about lucky cats. Lucky because they were micro-chipped and when they were taken to one of the Berks County shelters, they got back home after being scanned. NNN also has a verbal agreement with these shelters that when an ear-tipped cat comes in, someone from either Fairchild Foundation or NNN picks it up. Both destroy feral cats. Life saving agreement. Early this morning I received a text from a NNN employee that there is an ear-tipped cat at Lehigh County Humane Society and do we want to pick it up. Do I want to pick it up?!!!! YES!!!! Went over my lunch break to find a very busy shelter. Orange and white male came in a trap from 700 block of Tilghman St. Someone doing TNR in the area but the neighbors obviously dont want the cats there.Kitty has been relocated to an area with a lot more grass and trees.1 feral cat saved. Why do I say Never say Never ? Due to a relationship formed during a humane officer training program, we have the chance to create an opportunity that can save lives. This is an opportunity to see if we can reach common ground on TNR and treatment of feral cats. Never say Never. Change can happen.
