Never seen a gangster film like this before. Few scenes in the movie reminded me of the epic Funny How? bar scene from Scorceses Goodfellas (1990), humorised murder scenes in Tarantinos Pulp Fiction (1994) and movie making scenes of Tamil film Vellithirai. The film has faint shades of some hollywood flicks and just when we think its getting predictable, the movie unfurls unexpected twists and turns in the plot. Watch out for: 1. Bobby Simha (breathtaking performance...reminds me of Joe Pesci from Goodfellas and Samuel L. Jackson from Pulp Fiction) 2. Santhosh Narayanan (Background score !!....Ennoi Morricone style!!..) 3. Karthik Subbaraj ( Excellent Direction) 4. Subtle humor that amalgamates with the serious plot. My favorite scene : Bobby Simha is being sacked by goons. He jumps into a car and shoots them....THERI MASS!!!..(reminded me of Quentin Tarantinos Django Unchained).... #Jigarthanda - A Superb film!...must watch! Those of you who think its a original film...No, it has been inspired from South Korean film A Dirty Carnival...
