Never throw away old photos. Whilst youre posting ww2 photos. A quick post to show the importance of heritage sites. Not Southampton but Setley in the New Forest. Used throughout the war as a proper pow containment camp and not just a transit camp. An archaeology website researched the area and sadly the only image they had was an ariel picture from 1946, which i have posted below. No pictures of the camp were left. I found some pictures whilst researching my family tree that i couldnt place the location. Checked the site, and Bingo, they now very happily have pictures of some of the camp buildings and i was able to solve a problem. Its all out there somewhere. :)
