{New #5 Issue: Search underway for missing AirAsia Flight} The Foreign Office has confirmed that a British national is among passengers on an AirAsia plane that went missing while traveling from India to Singapore. The Airbus 320-200 lost contact with air traffic control at 7:24am local time, with 155 passengers and 7 crew members on board. In a statement released this morning, an FCO spokesman said: We are aware of an incident regarding AirAsia flight QZ8501. Our thoughts are with the passengers families as they await further news. We have been informed by the local authorities that one British national was on board. Their next of kin has been informed, and we stand ready to provide consular assistance. According to a statement posted by the airline, there are 155 Indonesians onboard the missing the flight, as well as three people from South Korea, one French, one Singaporean, and one from Malaysia.
