New Developments in the Collegiate Curriculum There are changes by 2016. First would be the adoption of the K11 and K12. 2nd would be the abolition of the Filipino subject. GEC is down to 36 units from 56 to 61 units. What this sums up next is that--- we will have a generation of students who cant express themselves in English, and Filipino, as well. Instead of fortifying the study of languages, what the CHED has come up with, is the outright abolition of Filipino studies from the college curriculum. Let us hope that school administrators would look into this problem more profoundly and how it will affect the quality of their graduates.
