New Job Art Editor - GamesMaster - FP00646 Industry: Design and Creative Job Type: Permanent Location: Bath, England Salary: £competitive with excellent benefits Are you a Deputy Art Editor or Art Editor looking for a new challenge in magazine design? GamesMaster are looking for a talented Art Editor to lead its design across print and digital brands. As Art Editor youll be the creative lead on each edition, ensuring the design, quality, look and feel of every magazine edition, tablet edition, bookazines and wider editorial branding. Working closely with the Group Editor-in-Chief and Group Art Director, youll ensure the magazine is designed to deadline and within budget. Youll deliver inspirational designs and ideas and be responsible for sourcing or generating any visual content. Youll be responsible for any printed covermounts, such as supplements, calenders and gift packaging. Youll plan, arrange and direct photography, brief and commission illustrations, source and optimise for print any screen grabs, renders or supplied assets, and conduct image library picture research. You should be passionate about magazines both print and digital, and be able to demonstrate an appreciation of contemporary magazine design. Experience as a Deputy Art Editor or Art Editor on a national newsstand brand is essential. Experience of designing creative layouts, inspirational covers and treatments in print and in tablet, youll have excellent design and typographic skills and an eye for detail. Youll be a proficient user of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator and have experience of directing photo shoots and commissioning. Excellent communication skills are needed alongside proven people management skills and a proactive approach. Youll have the ability to deliver inspirational designs and ideas to deadlines as well as ideally having an interest in videogames.
