New Job BIW Machine Technician - Week day shift - BIWMT Industry: Automotive Job Type: Permanent Location: Oxford, England Salary: £30723 per annum + shift premium, car scheme, pension Job Description - Where necessary take responsibility for start up and shut down of plant / equipment ensuring all process parameters are met. - Monitor all facility systems and input data on to the appropriate data base. - Attend meetings when requested to input specialist knowledge. - Take responsibility for spares in local area, including order and re-ordering. - Liaise with other departments when required. - Demonstrate a willingness to train and support all team members. - Actively use multi skilled techniques within the breakdown analysis process. - Lead small project activities. - Ensure a proper shift change over at all times. - Develop customer / supplier relationships - Carry out fault elimination and equipment optimisation (cycle time, availability, product quality) using mechanical and electrical expertise. - Deliver planned maintenance and train manufacturing personnel in TPM activities. - Update systems on completion of TPM / PM activities. - Carry out checks and monitoring of plant / equipment e.g. vibration analysis, weld parameters, fluid fills, vacuum checks, etc. - Ensure adherence to safe working and good housekeeping practices. - Use the problem resolution process for fault elimination. - Provide complex design solutions within his / her core skill and contribute, using supplementary skills, to simple PLC mods, tooling or mechanical problems. - Analysis of all appropriate data to identify trends and remedial actions. - Provide advanced technical solutions and enrol support as appropriate. - Provide expert knowledge / skill on high technology equipment. - Ensure optimisation of plant / equipment, cycle time, process specifics and technical availability. - Demonstrates proactive attitude to the maintenance role. Skills & Qualifications - Recognised Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ 3, BTEC or other appropriate experience qualifications. - General mechanical / electrical engineering skills, evidence of decision making plus long term experience in the operational environment. - Strong communication skills. - Ability to work well under pressure and to be self motivated Due to the high volumes of applications we are currently receiving, unfortunately we are only able to contact candidates who are successful in progressing to the next stage.
