New Job Perl / Sybase Developer, Risk, Algo, Bank - Sybase Contract Industry: IT Job Type: Permanent Location: London, England Salary: full banking benefits & bonus Sybase / Perl Developer, Risk Management, Investment Bank, City, London £65,000 plus bens SYBASE / PERL DEVELOPMENT EXPERT - RISK SYSTEMS - ALGORITHMICS, RISKWATCH, .NET, EXCEL, LONDON A leading International Investment Bank have an immmediate requirement an experienced development consultant to join the Risk IT team on a major change project to enhance their Alorithmics Risk Management system. The successful candidate will be required to perform development on & implement functionality for the banks core Risk Management system from Algorithmics. The technologies will be primarily using Sybase, Unix, Linux, Perl with some Java technologies. Core Risk development will be primarily through changes to Sybase code (stored procedures, tables, views etc) and Perl modules, with some Excel development. Excellent knowledge of Sybase database and writing stored procedures, with a good understanding of performance tuning approaches. Excellent knowledge of Perl scripting, ability to create and enhance modules. Familiarity with Perls suite of modules (e.g. DBI) and Perl templates. Good knowledge of Unix/Linux Proven experience of performing technical design and writing technical specifications from business requirements Good knowledge of a wide variety of financial instruments including vanilla and convertible debt instruments, swaps ( including asset swaps ), and credit derivatives Good understanding of risk modelling for market and credit risk
