They are currently looking to recruit a Long Lead Items Project Manager to join their growing Front End Engineering Design Development team. This is a unique opportunity to join a company working on one of the largest technological/engineering challenges in the UK today Job Role The Long Lead Project Manager will develop, implement and maintain a programme to enable our client to make commitments to procure components essential for the design, manufacture, construction, installation and commissioning programme. As Long Lead Item Project Manager you will be required to demonstrate a unique combination of project/programme management skills and technical knowledge associated with Very High Integrity, High Integrity and Class 1 Nuclear structures and components. Duties -Develop, implement and maintain a programme of activities to enable commitments to be made for the procurement of Long Lead Items -Establish clear objectives, strategy that leads to a plan containing resources required and milestones to be met to deliver the project -Ensure that company support functions understand, plan for and deliver their contributions to the project. -Report to the Programme Executive on the activities of the project. -Support the development of management arrangements necessary to meet project requirements, which may be in advance of the companies organisational development needs. -Represent the company in discussions with the responsible designer and the UK Nuclear Regulators to ensure that the agreed schedule for making the commitments to procure the Long Lead Items can be met Qualifications and Experience -Knowledge of the engineering substantiation required and QA that needs to be applied to ensure the safety case for a nuclear power plant is adequately underpinned -Specific knowledge and understanding of the requirements associated with the procurement of critical nuclear power plant, including very high integrity items. -Previous experience within the nuclear sector and a demonstrable knowledge of international and UK nuclear requirements and associated codes and standards -A demonstrable track record of managing engineering project and associated resources during the early stage of major infrastructure projects, or similar programmes. -Knowledge of the manufacturing materials, processes and inspection requirements necessary to assure the quality of critical nuclear structures and components -Knowledge and understanding across a broad range of nuclear power plant engineering issues and management systems -Ability to work collaboratively with other functions and with the key external stakeholders to deliver challenging objectives -Previous experience of working with the UK nuclear regulators -Degree, or equivalent qualification, in an appropriate engineering or science subject -Ability to learn and deliver value in a changing and growing organisation -Operates consistently in line with Horizon company values which include: Safety, Courage, Integrity, Collaboration and Inspiration For more information regarding this role please call Mark Davis on 01453 829529 or to make an application send a CV to [email protected].
